MAYBROOK – “Faith, hope, love and cupcakes.” That’s what Nicole Conklin says the world needs more of.
It also happens to be the slogan for her business, Whipped Cupcakes Patisserie, which expanded to a new brick and mortar location on Jan. 7 at 93 Homestead Avenue in Maybrook Plaza.
But those who love the 44-year-old Town of Newburgh resident’s trademark teal and white 1963 Serro Scotty cupcake camper need not fear. She’s still slinging cupcakes from the mobile store she’s operated since 2014.

Essentials Salon moves to former Ohlin's Bakery storefront in Belmont - News - Belmont
After a fire on March 15, 2016 led to the closure of Ohlin's Bakery, many in Belmont miss the smell of their famous donuts and the long line to buy them that stretched out the door. However, Essentials Salon saw the vacant space as a perfect new location. They moved out of their salon at 79 Trapelo Road where they were located for seven years and re-opened in the new space on Jan. 14.
Owner Megan Brennan of Arlington said they were outgrowing their Trapelo Road space. The new space gives them 600 more square feet of space to accommodate her growing staff who offer services for hair and skin including coloring, styling, waxing, microderm abrasion and facials. She is also excited about being closer to the other businesses in Cushing Square.

( JTA ) — Walk into an Israeli post office or one of the many local stores that have lately been serving as ad-hoc delivery centers and you'll be confronted by a jumble of boxes sealed with the telltale black and blue packing tape from Amazon.com.
Orders from the American online retail giant have surged here in recent weeks, following the launch of the company's Hebrew-language online storefront and the offer of free shipping from the United States.

INDIAN SHORES, Fla. - A rash of vehicle crashes into bay-area businesses is raising concerns and a volunteer organization that tracks statistics said it happens more in Florida than in most other states.

Last week, someone else drove into a Speedway convenience store in Clearwater and the list continues to grow.
According to the Storefront Safety Council, Florida only accounts for 10% of all U.S. drivers, but accounts for 17% of all storefront vehicle crashed in America.

According to a release from the Lynbrook Fire Department, the woman backed into a vacant storefront on Stauderman Avenue and then drove forward and smashed into a cement stanchion near the Long Island Rail Road station at the corner of Atlantic and Stauderman avenues.
The LFD did not identify the woman, and LPD Chief Brian Paladino did not return a request for comment.
