The Amazon Echo Show's latest trick is scanning barcodes for your shopping | TechRadar

The Echo Show can tell you what the weather's going to do, show you movies on Amazon Prime Video, bring up your schedule... and now it'll also scan barcodes on items you want to buy online, apparently.

As spotted by VentureBeat , the new feature can be activated by saying "Alexa, scan this to my shopping list". You can then hold up a barcode in front of the camera on the Echo Show, and it'll identify it and add it to your Amazon shopping list.

We haven't heard anything officially from Amazon about this yet, so some of the details aren't quite clear – we're not sure if this is a US-only feature for now, for example.

Stockdale adds the landmark North Dallas shopping center to a handful of other key properties it owns in the area.

"We were attracted to the area's incredible growth and longevity and look forward to being part of the neighborhood for many years to come," Kenneth Pratt, managing partner at Stockdale Investment Group, said in a statement.

White Sox general manager Rick Hahn has virtually gone unnoticed in Chicago the last few years because the Sox have not performed well and haven't sniffed postseason action since 2008.

Also, the White Sox organization plays second fiddle to the Cubs in the news, but that could change in 2020.

E-skimming cyberattack is growing along with online shopping

During the busy holiday shopping season late last year, firearms maker American Outdoor Brands noticed a problem with one of its websites, which sells mostly hats, shirts and accessories.

The site, it turned out, was subject to an e-skimming attack over Thanksgiving, where a type of malware infected its checkout pages to steal payment and personal information of shoppers. The company, formerly known as Smith & Wesson, says the incident affected about 780 people.
