QuantConnect, a marketplace for the quantitative trading community, announced the launch of free trial periods on Alpha Streams strategies last month, allowing institutions to test algorithmic trading strategies prior to licensing.
Jared Broad, CEO and founder of QuantConnect, spoke with Benzinga about what the Alpha Streams free trial period means for the future of the burgeoning crowdsourced alpha movement.
Launched in 2011, QuantConnect is a platform for building trading algorithms, where quants signed into the community publish trading algorithms usable in assets including equities, futures, options, forex and crypto.

Online Real Estate Marketplace, PropertyGuru, to Expand into Home Finance Market
PropertyGuru , an online property marketplace, revealed on March 12, 2020, that it will be expanding into home finance with the launch of PropertyGuru Finance.
According to a release, the proptech company's management noted that it aims to help Singapore's residents save money and have a better experience when financing their homes.
PropertyGuru Finance said that that the new platform will provide competitive mortgage rates, and the digital software tools needed to assist property buyers with making informed financing decisions. The company says it will offer an independent, personalized advisory service so that its clients can take advantage of better long-term benefits.

This just in: Stanley Marketplace will be closed to the public as of this morning, March 15, for an indeterminate time. Some of the businesses will offer curbside pick-up options, and eateries are hoping to launch Stanley To Go, a food pick-up option, by March 17.

Assetz Capital is First Property Marketplace to Receive Funding from British Business Investments
Assetz Capital has received £15 million in funding from British Business Investments (BBI) . According to Assetz Capital, this is the first time a property-focused marketplace has received funding from BBI, a subsidiary of the British Business Bank.
Assetz Capital states that the funding will support over £100 million in new lending, originated on its platform, to smaller businesses and developers helping to finance new homes across the UK.
Stuart Law , CEO at Assetz Capital, said his company was founded to help resolve the housing crisis and create a better lending landscape for SMEs and property developers that were no longer being fully supported by traditional banks.
Airlines cut flights as demand plummets - Marketplace
American Airlines and Delta are the latest to say they're cutting schedules as a result of plummeting demand for flights.
AA is cutting international capacity by 10% for the summer peak . Delta says it'll slash 20% to 25% of overseas flights, and 10% to 15% of domestic flights.
Last week, United and JetBlue announced similar cutbacks and the CEO of Southwest, Gary Kelly, said he'll take a 10% pay cut.
Because of COVID-19 people don't want to, or can't, travel as much as usual. Together with the 737 MAX groundings, it's been a tough year for airlines.

The firm also has plans to deploy the platform in additional Cibo Express stores at Newark Liberty and LaGuardia Airports. OTG CEO Rick Blatstein said they're using the platform as "a means of optimizing the airport experience so that we can give our guests their time back."
Earlier this week, Amazon launched a website announcing the availability of the "Just Walk Out" platform , which leverages the same technologies behind the Amazon Go stores. Amazon uses computer vision, sensor fusion and deep learning to eliminate checkout lines. After swiping their credit cards upon entering a store, customers can simply pick up what they want and walk out. Their credit cards are then charged for the purchases.
