Outside Capitol Hill Frame Central, employee Thaleia Sundquist and manager Dennis Turner spray-paint a stencil of photographer Lance Mercer on Thursday. Turner boarded up the store, which has been open for 25 years, to protect it during closure due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Artist Chloe Guenther created the stencil based on a recent self-portrait of Mercer, who is known for his iconic images of Seattle bands like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone and others.

TWIN FALLS — A car crashed into Great Harvest Bread Co.'s storefront Wednesday afternoon just off Blue Lakes Boulevard North near Fred Meyer.
The driver, an unidentified woman, accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake as she pulled into a parking spot, Twin Falls police say. Magic Valley Restoration and Construction cleaned up the mess.

New York's once-bustling shopping districts are starting to look like they're bracing for a hurricane. Retailers are boarding up storefronts now that the virus pandemic has emptied the city's streets.
Large sheets of plywood barricade the entrances to Sephora locations throughout the city. In Soho, the windows to the Louis Vuitton store on Greene Street have been covered by boards painted with the luxury brand's signature yellow.

An enormous wildcat, perched amid an undulating teal-and-grey desert landscape, is now watching over Morley Avenue near the intersection with Court Street.
The scene was painted by local artist Antonio Lucero, aka Tony Plak, on the second story of a long-unoccupied shop as part of an ongoing effort to beautify the struggling commercial avenue with murals.

On Tuesday, Streetify, a shopping platform, announced that it was providing retailers access to its platform for free for one year in the U.S., Canada, U.K., India and Australia.
According to the company's announcement, Streetify enables retailers to set up virtual storefronts and post messages on their digital windows about deals, new hours, delivery options, what goods they have in stock and other information. Shoppers can also create and organize their personalized avenues with their favorite stores and follow celebrities, per the company's statement.

In Oregon, regulators with the state's Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) issued temporary rules that allow cannabis retailers to conduct sales outside of the licensed premises. While the rules are in effect, dispensaries will be permitted to take orders and deliver product to customers who are within 150 feet of the business. The change is designed to support last week's order from Democratic Gov.
The temporary regulations also increase the amount of cannabis patients in the state's medical marijuana program can purchase to 24 ounces per day but no more than 32 ounces a month. The change increases the daily purchase limit to match a patient's personal possession limit but does not increase the amount of medicine that may be purchased each month.

It was only a couple weeks ago that Resurrection Records, the small vinyl shop on Northwest Boulevard, was packed all weekend, both with local customers and out-of-towners who were here for Tool's nearly sold-out Arena show.
Now the city's musical landscape looks totally different. Music venues have closed and concerts have been canceled, and it's possible that brick-and-mortar music stores could be next.
