ACLU Launches Television Ad Campaign Calling for Release of Elderly and Vulnerable Inmates

The American Civil Liberties Union has launched a six-figure nationwide television ad campaign calling on U.S. residents to pressure government leaders to release elderly and medically-vulnerable inmates from prisons and jails across the country amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Since the coronavirus reached the U.S., the ACLU and its state affiliates have filed more than 15 legal actions calling for the protection and release of people held at detention centers, prisons and jails across the country.

Co-op drops original Easter ad campaign to support FareShare | News | The Grocer

The society has ditched its original marketing campaign, which was focused on its Easter eggs, and created a new advert to promote the work of food redistribution charity FareShare.

Co-op shoppers will be offered the option of donating at tills in amounts of 50p, £1, £2 or £5. Texting the number in the advert will automatically donate £10 to FareShare.

"Demand for food bank services has already gone up in the past couple of weeks, and this is only set to grow as the number of people who unexpectedly find themselves without a regular or reduced income increases.

Pro-Trump group reserves $26.6 million in ad buys in Florida, North Carolina | TheHill

The America First Action PAC has reserved the air time for ads to run between Labor Day and Election Day. The group will put $18.5 million behind the Florida campaign and $8 million will be directed to North Carolina.

Last week, the group announced its first independent expenditures of the 2020 cycle, saying it would make an initial investment of $10 million to reserve air time in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. Those three former "blue wall" states are critical to Trump's reelection efforts.

Presidential, House Ads Slow to Trickle

(MIDDLETOWN, CT) April 9, 2020 – Television advertising in the presidential race has slowed to a trickle in the past couple of weeks just prior to Bernie Sanders suspending his campaign and ending the 2020 Democratic nomination race—and ads have dropped off in House and Senate races as well.

Figure 1 shows the number of airings in the presidential race by week, which peaked at almost 150,000 at the end of February 2020 (shown in the solid line). But in the past two weeks, airings dropped to just under 4,000 total spots (between March 23 and April 5).
