Along with most offices on campus, the university's bookstore has closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The bookstore still continues to operate its online storefront and is offering free shipping on all items.
Despite the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak causing campus closures, the University Bookstore is still providing some of its services.
Along with most university offices, the bookstore has been closed for the remainder of the semester. However, its digital storefront continues to operate and has been unaffected by the outbreak. Because of the closure of the bookstore, free shipping is available for all items until further notice.
Maintenance Tips for When Stores Go Dark
As the coronavirus outbreak triggered a massive amount of temporary store closures, facilities repair company MaintenX International has some suggestions for retailers and brands during this "dark store" period, which includes using the closed store time to make repairs while also maintaining "curb appeal."
"While dark stores do not see the same foot traffic as regular storefronts, regular preventative and reactive maintenance is still an important component of success," MaintenX said in a statement.
MetroNet offers WiFi hot spot for those without internet access
A WiFi hot spot is now available and will operate 24 hours a day. The service is available to anyone, including non-MetroNet customers, by parking near the utility company’s storefront located at 111 Commerce Drive in Franklin.
Users are advised to following public health guidelines and maintain physical distance from others while in the parking lot.
