Many potential users worldwide have raised privacy concerns about contact-tracing apps. Ontario Premier Doug Ford addressed those fears and urged residents to sign up, saying that privacy was of the utmost concern and the No. 1 priority when developing the app and that Shopify and BlackBerry "nailed it."

Meanwhile, 18.65 million people continued to claim regular jobless benefits in the prior week. The main thing about this company is that as of now, it primarily caters to small and mid-sized businesses that were lashed pretty bad by the lockdowns and social distancing norms in place. Government support did help them a bit, but many were hard-pressed to just get their stuff out to customers. So the primary  need of the hour was an   online presence , which is where Shopify had its gains in the last few months.

Shopify, BlackBerry Team on App With Canada at Covid Milestone

Canada is partnering with Shopify Inc. volunteers and BlackBerry Ltd. on a contact tracing application for Covid-19 as cases in the country breached 100,000.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said users will be able to upload their test results voluntarily onto the app. All data will be kept anonymous, with no no location or personal information collected.

Threekit 3D and Augmented Reality Now Available to Over 1 Million Shopify Users | Furniture

In a world where in-store shopping isn't always an option, ecommerce is growing at an exceptional rate. In the past year, the category grew by 68 percent . But with 80 percent of shoppers stating they want to ’view-and-touch’ products before committing to buying them online, brands are challenged to find ways to bring the in-store experience online.

According to Shopify’s own research, published in March, one of the primary ways companies can do this is by offering 3D models in augmented reality. These visuals can increase conversion rates by up to 250% on product pages. But when brands with few resources for digital imagery attempt to customize features, colors, shapes, and sizes for their entire product inventories, they run into complex problems.
