Trump directs a campaign ad in Portland - POLITICO

At White House briefings, in far-right outlets and among Republicans, Trump's allies have made a sound stage out of protests across four city blocks.

President Donald Trump is conjuring up an American dystopia — using the government and his supporters as producers.

"I think he's fishing around for an image, for optics that project the image he's trying to retain," said Seth Mandel, the executive editor of the right-leaning Washington Examiner magazine. "'Law and order,' as he says."

Ozarks Senate race in uproar over X-ray ’genitalia’ in campaign ad - News -

A Republican primary race for a state Senate seat representing a wide swath of south central Missouri was in a bit of an uproar this week over an attack ad depicting two of the three candidates as "spineless."

In many ways, the ad from a political action committee backing Rep. Robert Ross, R-Yukon, is fairly standard for this time of the cycle.

The ad offers a list of allegations against Rep. Karla Eslinger, R-Wasola, and former Rep. Van Kelly, and then shows photos of their faces atop X-rays of skeletons with the backbones blacked out.

Democratic super PAC to launch six-figure ad buy backing Biden in Texas | TheHill

The super PAC, MeidasTouch, released a new ad attacking Trump on Thursday. The PAC will air the new ad as part of an expanded six-figure ad buy in Texas that will feature ads in the Houston and Dallas television markets.

The new 30 second ad , titled "Trump is a Disaster," highlights some of the president's most controversial comments.

In announcing the expansion of ads in Texas, the super PAC highlighted a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday that found Biden with a slim 1-point lead over Trump in the state. Biden had 45 percent support, while Trump had 44 percent. Biden's lead was within the poll's 3.3 percentage point margin of error, but it represented a shift in support from a similar poll in June when Trump had a 1-point lead over his Democratic challenger.

As Trump Pushes Into Portland, His Campaign Ads Turn Darker - The New York Times

As President Trump deploys federal agents to Portland, Ore., and threatens to dispatch more to other cities, his re-election campaign is spending millions of dollars on several ominous television ads that promote fear and dovetail with his political message of "law and order."

The influx of agents in Portland has led to scenes of confrontations and chaos that Mr. Trump and his White House aides have pointed to as they try to burnish a false narrative about Democratic elected officials allowing dangerous protesters to create widespread bedlam.
