NC Quick Pass customer service centers reopen to customers

CHARLOTTE – NC Quick Pass customer service centers in Charlotte and Monroe have reopened to customers.

All NC Quick Pass locations were temporarily closed to customers effective March 17 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Each location has been thoroughly cleaned in preparation for opening. There are new safety protocols to help keep customers and employees safe and healthy. Customers are asked to follow the posted signage that includes wearing a mask.

Plant Vogtle opponents seeking faster review of cost to customers - Business - The Augusta

ATLANTA – Georgia energy regulators are expected to vote Tuesday to verify and approve $674 million Georgia Power spent on the Plant Vogtle nuclear expansion during the last half of 2019.

But opponents of the $25 billion project say the state Public Service Commission should go well beyond such a routine decision and start examining how much building two additional nuclear reactors at the site south of Augusta is ultimately going to cost and how much of that customers should have to pay.

Alliant Energy: 95 percent of customers in Johnson County have electricity available

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Alliant Energy said it has restored power to 95 percent of its customers in Johnson County as of 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

In a Facebook update Alliant said nearly all of its customers in the communities of Conrad, Walford and West Branch have electricity available following Monday's derecho.

This follows Alliant's announcement that it expects to restore power to a "significant number of customers" by Tuesday. Earlier Sunday the total number of Iowans without power dropped below 100,000.

Chinese restaurant 'deeply sorry' for weighing customers

The restaurant in the central city of Changsha asked customers to stand on scales and scan their data into an app that recommended food choices based on their weight, Agence France Presse reported .

Signs were posted at the eatery that read, “be thrifty and diligent, promote empty plates” and “operation empty plate” — references to a national campaign to stop wasting food.

NV Energy has added Qualified Appliance Replacement to its list of PowerShift products and services that help customers save energy and money. The new service will provide, free of charge, an ENERGY STAR rated refrigerator, electric clothes dryer and other products to customers who meet income guidelines and other eligibility requirements.

"PowerShift's new Qualified Appliance Replacement service will help those eligible customers who are unable to replace older appliances, such as refrigerators and dryers, with new, more energy-efficient models," said Chad Piekarz, program manager. "We're excited to bring this offering to our customers who either own or rent their home as it will help them to better manage their energy use and save on monthly utility bills.

4,000 ComEd Customers Still Without Power After Monday’s Storms – CBS Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) — Some people are still waiting for their power to be turned back on after Monday’s storm. There are just under 400 active outages, mostly in the south and southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Saturday ComEd said it had restored power to more than 850,000 families and businesses in northern Illinois. That is most of its affected customers from Monday’s storm.

ComEd said more than 3,300 crews are working around the clock to restore power and have restored power to 99% of customers.
