Does Trump's payroll tax deferral mean save now, pay later? - Marketplace

The Department of the Treasury and the IRS issued guidance Friday for how to implement that payroll tax deferral President Donald Trump announced earlier this month .

A payroll tax deferral means nothing for the tens of millions of people out of work because they have no paycheck and therefore no payroll tax to be deferred.

Also, this deferral is supposed to kick in Sept. 1, which is going to be a challenge, to put it nicely, for the businesses and payroll processors that got this news Friday.

U.S. unemployment rate falls to 8.4% even as hiring slows - Marketplace

The U.S. unemployment rate fell sharply in August to 8.4%  from 10.2%, even as hiring slowed in August as employers added the fewest jobs since the pandemic began. Employers added 1.4 million jobs, the Labor Department said Friday, down from 1.7 million in July.

Julia Coronado: The census. So we were expecting the census to add a lot of jobs. These are temporary census data collectors. They added more than 200,000 jobs. If we look, excluding census, at the private sector hiring that was about a million jobs. That’s down from 1.5 million in July. So a little bit of loss of momentum and hiring.

Marketplace Fastest Climbers - August 2020 | Seeking Alpha

Well, as I finish typing this, things have clearly changed since I started drafting it on Sept. 1. August was white hot but now it looks like the bears are joining the millions of parents with their kids - and taking the bulls to school.

Much like the post stock-split success of Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA ) and Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL ) , I'll keep this post short. Marketplace had a slower month, which is usual for August as several investors/traders are taking holidays. There were still several services that grew significantly. As per usual, here's our list of fastest climbers for July, as ranked by net increase in recurring revenue for the last 28 days of the month.

Buy Fiverr As The Marketplace Turns Profitable (NYSE:FVRR) | Seeking Alpha

Similar to other tech plays Fiverr has seen a COVID-19 surge in consumer demand, driving strong shareholder returns over the period.

From a technical standpoint the rise may seem overdone, but the long-term potential is large, buy.

Fiverr ( FVRR ) has seen one of the most explosive rises even by tech standards across the market. Since touching the lows of $22 back in March the share price has rocketed 400%, delivering significant shareholder value. I have a strong belief in Fiverr's underlying business and the service they offer. I would encourage prospective investors, as with many other tech plays, not to become too distracted by the expensive valuation but rather look at the huge long-term opportunity.

Petlove acquires Vetus to launch pet product marketplace

The acquisition is part of Petlove's plan to remain competitive with the likes of other Brazilian e-commerce platforms specializing in pet products like Petz and Cobasi.

This acquisition is quite strategic. Carried out to turn the Petlove platform into a marketplace for third parties.

Using Vetus, Petlove wants to grant its partners (small pet shops and veterinarians) a marketplace through which they can sell products and services.
