FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. — Employees of a Dollar General store in eastern Kentucky encountered a rather difficult customer Wednesday night when a bobcat was discovered browsing the toiletries aisle.

The Floyd County Sheriff's Department documented the encounter on Facebook, crediting the help of the Martin Police Department and Kentucky State Patrol for helping to safely capture the feisty feline and remove it from the store without injury to anyone involved.

Google looking to bring web Duplex to shopping, ordering - 9to5Google
Amidst COVID-19, Google has been using Duplex to call businesses and automatically update store hours, as well as get information about takeout or no-contact delivery, for Maps and Search. This means business owners do not have to manually update listings.
Google last year started using Duplex at scale in the US and expanded it to eight countries during the pandemic. Since then, “over 3 million updates to businesses like pharmacies, restaurants and grocery stores that have been seen over 20 billion times in Maps and Search.”

YouTube is asking creators to tag and track products featured in their videos as part of an "experiment" in what is potentially a major step toward fulfilling the platform's e-commerce ambitions.
As the largest video sharing platform, YouTube could tie product placement to unboxing videos, cooking demonstrations, make-up tutorials and how-to videos. According to a Google survey taken in February, over 70 percent of users said YouTube makes them more aware of new brands.
Bobcat apprehended while ‘shopping’ in Dollar General | WFLA
FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) — Employees at a Dollar General store in Martin, Kentucky had a pretty testy shopper pay them a visit Wednesday evening— and the claws came out.

A bobcat was found inside the store near the deodorant aisle. Floyd County Sheriff’s Department posted on Facebook that deputies, KSP troopers, and Martin Police were able to safely capture it and remove it from the store.
Thankfully, no employees or customers were injured and neither was the bobcat, who was released into the wild.

Alleged robber causes scare with replica handgun at Stanford Shopping Center | News | Palo Alto
At about 6:40 p.m., officers responded to a call by security personnel at the shopping center, located at 180 El Camino Real, where they were attempting to keep a 39-year-old man who appeared to be armed under observation.
Police located the man, who was still holding what looked like a semi-automatic handgun. He quickly complied with commands to drop the weapon and police took him safely into custody, according to the release.
The man had entered the Timberland store and attempted to pay for $600 in merchandise with a credit card. After the transaction was declined multiple times, the man became increasingly disruptive to the point that an employee called security personnel for assistance, police said. He allegedly removed the replica handgun from his waistband, brandished it at employees and left the store with the merchandise without paying, police said.
