Several small businesses on display at new marketplace in Naperville | WGN-TV

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – A new marketplace in Naperville is allowing small businesses to have a physical space without high rent prices of a brick and motor store.

Painted Tree Marketplace, located at 240 South Route 59, features over 150 booths for businesses to show off their creativity.

It’s a great place to get unique gifts for the holidays. Small business owners are able to rent a space inside the over 30,000 square foot facility at much cheaper rates than renting a brick and motor space.

The next crucial weeks in the COVID-19 crisis would be a lot easier if Canadians really were the people in the old joke about the swimming pool.

The joke: “How do you get a bunch of Canadians out of a swimming pool?” Punchline: “You say: ‘Canadians, please get out of the pool.’”

Law in the Marketplace: What to know to minimize business taxes

A primary concern of all New Hampshire business owners during the coronavirus pandemic is to minimize business taxes, including, of course, New Hampshire taxes.

The two main New Hampshire business taxes are the 7.7% Business Profits Tax (the BPT) applicable to business entities with gross income of $10,000 or more; and the 5% Interest and Dividends Tax on interest and profits distributed to New Hampshire business owners by their own or other companies.
