Walmart (WMT) Q3 2021 earnings beat

Walmart (WMT) Q3 2021 earnings beat

Walmart reported third-quarter earnings on Tuesday that topped Wall Street's expectations as customers continued to shop online and sent U.S. e-commerce sales soaring by 79%.

Walmart did not provide an outlook, but the company's CEO, Doug McMillon, said the popularity of the online shopping services will not fade away.

"We're convinced that most of the behavior change will persist beyond the pandemic and that our combination of strong stores and emerging digital capabilities will be a winning formula," he told investors on an earnings call. "Customers will want to be served in a variety of ways and we're positioned to save them money, provide the variety of product choices they're looking for, and deliver the experience they choose in the moment."

Delivering a Compelling ROI Message to Customers - CFO

While it's always important to highlight value, in our current environment communicating a strong return-on-investment message to customers is more important than ever. With a shortage of resources and budget, business leaders are responding to major disruptions across their organizations, leading to a constant reevaluation of spending priorities.

According to Gartner , worldwide IT spending in 2020 will reach $3.6 trillion — a 5.4% drop from 2019. The decrease makes sense since the priority for most companies in 2020 was just to keep businesses running as usual.

As essential service providers, utility companies are committed to educating the customers we serve about the latest scam tactics being used to target them.

That is why Utilities United Against Scams (UUAS) and its member organizations are recognizing the fifth annual Utility Scam Awareness Day on November 18, to help educate customers about the risks that exist today.
