POTTSVILLE, Pa. — From a bus to an actual storefront —that's been the journey for Quintinsky's Glitz and Glam Boutique.
"I got the idea one day, and I was like, 'I can shop, it doesn't have to be for myself, and I can make a profit from it,'' said owner Tabatha Masler.
Masler, who's also a nurse, started operating her boutique and selling women's clothing out of a small refurbished bus. Over the past year and a half or so, after her small business grew, it became hard to operate out of such a small space. She decided to expand to a location on West Norwegian Street in Pottsville, just days away from opening.

Clover Milwaukee is bringing sustainable plants and pottery to Bay View storefront
We’re only four days into 2021 and Bay View already has a new store in its midst. The neighborhood newcomer is Clover Milwaukee , a plant shop that moved to a retail space at 2252 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. The new shop is located directly next to The Brass Rooster.
The venture started last October, when owners/founders Maggie Murphy and Sissy Butner started selling sustainably-focused plants and pottery on Instagram . A Clover website was launched in December, and the pair got the keys to their dedicated retail space on January 1. The store will be offering curbside pick up starting today, and the owners have a goal of being open to the public for in-person shopping sometime in February.
City to business owners: Keep using the sidewalks. But does it work on Staten Island?
Sidewalk dining extensions are free for all storefront businesses through Sept. 30, 2021. (Staten Island Advance/Pamela Silvestri)
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Last week Mayor Bill de Blasio announced an extension of Open Storefronts until Sept. 30, 2021, an initiative that allows storefront businesses to use a portion of their sidewalk. Proprietors can sell pre-packaged food and allow customers to queue up in that space, an eight-foot clear swath of sidewalk from the curb.
Over 25% of Apple Stores Are Now Closed Worldwide as U.K. Goes into Lockdown
With COVID-19 cases rising around the world, it looks like Apple has just shuttered all 38 of its stores in the U.K., bringing the total number of fully closed Apple retail stores up to 139 globally.
This follows a similar move in late December among U.S. Apple retail locations, where a new round of pandemic restrictions took down every Apple Store in Los Angeles — 13 in total — right before the Christmas holidays, quickly followed by the rest of its locations in California and Tennessee, plus 22 stores in Germany, the Netherlands, Mexico, and Brazil.
This may worth something:

Bethlehem City Council discusses possible zoning changes | State | tiogapublishing.com
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – During its Tuesday night meeting, Bethlehem City Council conducted a hearing on potential zoning amendments that would revise commercial storefront requirements in certain zoning districts.
The changes would alter first-floor commercial storefront usage in the central business (CB) and limited commercial (CL) zoning districts.
If the amendments are approved, the code would require that all permitted uses in the CB zoning district include a principal retail, restaurant or personal service use on the front street level. An office use, professional or otherwise, would not be permitted on the front street level.
Combi Tacos, a virtual Denver restaurant, helps families in need | 9news.com
DENVER — A lot of things went virtual this year, and now some businesses are launching virtually as well.
Since Combi Tacos has no storefront, we met them in the parking lot of Boogie Down Bar and Grill.
"It's essentially a ghost kitchen that doesn't have a location," said Alejandro Flores-Muñoz, the owner of Combi Tacos. "I lease their kitchen whenever they're not using it."
Flores-Munoz started Combi Tacos in December, but starting with a storefront can be a challenge financially, so Combi Tacos is all delivery, using Uber Eats and Door Dash to deliver his family's recipes.
Electric Carmakers Turn To Shopping Malls As Storefronts | AllWork.Space
According to Ellen Wei, head of retail for property manager at JLL China, taking up space in malls allows electric carmakers to attract younger people.

Wei added that one company has plans to open 400 stores across 20 Chinese cities next year as confidence in the electric automaker industry grows.
"It's effective because people still eventually want to have a physical location to see the car," said Raymond Tsang, partner at management consulting firm Bain. "You probably don't need a full-blown 4S dealership because there's no service requirement. And you only need a physical touch to make your decision."
