Do You Actually Understand Why Your Customers Are Buying?

While doing the research for your marketing can be tough and sometimes expensive, what’s even tougher (and ultimately more expensive) is shotgunning your marketing into the dark and hoping you're successful.

The bottom line of all this research is identifying your “love group,” the customers who are your faithful followers, frequent purchasers and most vocal about your product. When you identify this group, find out what they love about your product. One of the details to focus on is what keywords are used consistently when customers talk about your product or service.

Mass craftsmanship - How to know what customers want | Special report | The Economist

T O SEE HOW consumers have turned the shopping experience on its head, look not to humans but to pets, who hold the world to the highest standards of customer care. If any group has thrived during covid-19, it is the fur-coated crowd. According to Bernard Meunier of Purina PetCare, a brand with $15.4bn annual sales owned by Nestlé, the world's largest food company, pet ownership has soared during the pandemic.

Don't expect Nestlé to personalise everything. Grocery shoppers remain mass consumers. The bulk of its products will fill supermarket shelves or online baskets for the foreseeable future, says Jordi Bosch, global head of sales at Nestlé. But the more options consumers have for where to shop, and the more information they have at their fingertips about what to buy, the more manufacturers need to adapt their products, whether they are Nespresso coffee pods or varied pack sizes of Nescafé.

Dish to acquire Republic Wireless, its customers and its push-to-talk business division

Earlier this week, Dish Network revealed plans to acquire Wi-Fi-first mobile virtual network operator Republic Wireless, a move that will transfer about 200,000 wireless customers over to Dish's care. While the financial terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed, Dish did say that the acquisition will boost its 5G network, which is expected to launch later this year.

By acquiring Republic Wireless, Dish will also gain Relay Inc., Republic's push-to-talk business division that has set out develop its own kind of walkie-talkie device primarily for children and professional team communication. According to Dish, Relay will remain a standalone business, but it will also become a customer of the network's 5G division.

Britain set to keep door open for EU derivatives customers

LONDON, March 11 (Reuters) - Britain is set to allow banks to continue trading derivatives in the European Union after a review this month, given that pulling down the shutters would not bring back the trillions of euros in business lost since Brexit.

Britain's trade deal with the EU since January does not cover financial services, leaving the City of London largely cut off from the bloc, which had banned EU customers from using UK platforms for trading swaps.
