Style Society's New Storefront in Costa Mesa

In 2016, Shelli Melkonian opened Style Society, a boutique featuring fashionable clothing and accessories, which shared space with a salon. When the pandemic forced the boutique to close, Melkonian decided to relocate to a larger space down the street from her original location. "Toward the end of me being there, I was in 150 square feet," Melkonian says. "We have to only have 25 percent capacity, which in that small space would've been one person at a time.

With help from a friend in interior design, Melkonian transformed the empty space into a bright, welcoming shop where customers of all ages can still find an assortment of basic T-shirts as well as floral dresses, handbags, candles, and more. "I've always wanted this to be a place where a mother-daughter combo could come in and both find something," Melkonian says. "On Saturday, my last customer was an 80-year-old woman.

CHESTER, NJ - Cheryl Brown's Sweet Spot Bake Shoppe has faced a lot of adversity since opening in February 2010 and has constantly evolved with those challenges. Coming April 26 is the next evolution.

"We will be closing our storefront to walk-in traffic. As a mom of two small children, the demands and long hours of retail business is taking too much time away from my family," Brown said on social media. "I feel I can best support my family and my business by focusing my attention on custom orders. This decision was not made lightly, but it was done knowing how our community has supported us for the past 11 years and with the hope you will continue to do so."

Second marijuana outlet eyes Rancho Bernardo storefront - Pomerado News

While the first proposed marijuana outlet for Rancho Bernardo is still going through the city approval process, a second one is being proposed for the middle of the community's downtown shopping district.

March and Ash has started its application process with the City of San Diego to operate an outlet at 16789 Bernardo Center Drive.

According to its meeting agenda, the Rancho Bernardo Planning Board is scheduled to vote on a recommendation this Thursday during its 7 p.m. meeting, but board Chairwoman Robin Kaufman said on Monday the agenda item will be modified. She said the board understood its input was required by April 26, but just found out that is the date for a first review by city staff and no decision will be made then.
