ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Across the state, there’s a new debate – whether or not businesses should be allowed to require the COVID-19 vaccine for employees and customers

"By law, you can't mandate a vaccine approved under an Emergency Use Authorization," said Governor Andrew Cuomo during a press conference. 

The state government can’t mandate it for anyone, but some local private businesses are.

Argument between two customers turns deadly after shooting inside Wendy's restaurant

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place inside a Miami-Dade County fast food restaurant.

According to authorities, two customers got into an argument inside the Wendy's located at 11925 Northwest 27th Place in Northwest Miami-Dade early Saturday evening.

One of the customers then pulled out a gun and shot the other customer who had just hit the employee, according to Miami-Dade police.

Santa Cruz County in "severe drought", water districts asking customers to conserve

The "severe drought" designation is the worst for the county since California's last drought from 2012-2016

National Weather Service meteorologist Brayden Murdock said he was "not surprised" to see the distinction come so quickly.

San Lorenzo Valley Water District is moving to stage 2 water restrictions asking customers to conserve 10 to 20%. They're also authorizing two lawn "watering days" per week and restricting which buildings can be washed.

Grocery store owners advise customers to think smart when shopping as food prices continue to

LEMOYNE, Pa. — Customers around the country have seen a price increase in common foods and household items.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, this past year prices on grocery items have increased by 2.6%.

"It is just a struggle to get it because the restaurants have come back on, and they've had a high demand for chicken wings, and chicken breasts," he said.

Power restored to nearly 400 utility customers after driver hits, damages power pole – KIRO 7

GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY, Wash. — Power has been restored to about 400 utility customers in Grays Harbor County after a driver allegedly fell asleep and struck a utility pole on U.S. Route 12 on Saturday.

The power was out for several hours until utility workers completed repairs, restoring power as of 4 p.m.

Virgin Media customers left waiting longest on phone - BBC News

Virgin Media and Virgin Mobile customers face the longest wait to speak to customer service operators by phone, the regulator Ofcom has found.

Virgin Media customers waited seven minutes and 40 seconds on average, while Virgin Mobile took six minutes and 44 seconds to answer calls in 2020.

Virgin Media said it had been forced to change the set-up of its contact centres during the pandemic.
