Ahead of its virtual upfront presentation on Monday, NBCUniversal has unveiled a set of advertising innovations ranging from new formats to augmented-reality shopping.
Interactivity is the central objective of the various rollouts, which are housed on the company’s One Platform.
“Our content and commercial innovations are an ongoing opportunity for NBCUniversal to completely reimagine the viewer experience, while creating new ways for our marketing partners to propel their business forward,” said Josh Feldman, Chief Marketing Officer, NBCUniversal Advertising & Partnerships. “These new ad formats are a glimpse into the future of video.”
Rainy Day Books in Fairway will reopen for in-store shopping June 1

Rainy Day Books, a Fairway staple that's been in business for 46 years, will reopen the store for in-person shopping on June 1 for the first time in nearly 14 months.
The bookstore closed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, when metrowide stay-at-home orders were issued in March 2020, and has only reopened to fulfill online orders and curbside pickup.

New government data on Wednesday showed prices on a range of goods in April rose the most since September 2008. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index, food prices were up too.
The most recent CPI data for grocery prices in the North Texas region go through March. Those numbers showed overall grocery prices rose 2.1% between March of 2020 and March of 2021.
That's less than the national average, 3.3%, for that time period. However, before the pandemic, prices were actually falling in North Texas.

Huntington Shopping Center is slated for a drastic makeover that would include a new Whole Foods Market and ring up a price tag of more than $40 million.
Built in 1962, the shopping center, just south of Walt Whitman Shops, will be reconfigured, bringing in Whole Foods and other new tenants, and adding new facades, landscaping, outdoor seating and wider sidewalks to create a more walkable area, if the town of Huntington approves the planned renovations.
