Many small businesses are having trouble paying rent – and customers aren’t returning fast enough

More than half of minority-owned small businesses and more than a third of small businesses overall said they had trouble paying rent in June — and customers are not flocking back fast enough as COVID-19 ebbs.

The findings come from a survey by small-business network Alignable, which recently polled 3,814 businesses about their rent status.

Target's Remodels Will Please Customers. Will They Boost Sales?

In the remodeled format, Target is creating a designated and expanded area for in-store pickup; wider aisles, new fixtures and improved lighting in beauty; and in-store branded shops from partners including Apple, Disney and Ulta Beauty.

"We expect these remodeled stores will generate an incremental two percent to four percent sales growth in the year following completion, with another two percent incremental growth in the second year," said Mr. Mulligan.

AARP Texas petitions PUC for payment options to protect Residential Electricity Customers |

AUSTIN, Texas  —  AARP Texas today filed a petition with the Public Utility Commission of Texas seeking an emergency rule to help residential electricity customers facing disconnection due to non-payment.

The request aims to help an unknown number of utility customers who may have built up high unpaid balances during a just-ended moratorium on utility disconnections.

UPDATE: Power restored to over 600 customers in Northumberland County | 8News

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Over 600 customers lost power in the Ophelia area of Northumberland County this morning. Northern Neck Electric Cooperative said they have dispatched crews to that area.

A representative for Northern Neck Electric Cooperative told 8News that a team is investigating the cause of the outage.

Many Amazon Prime Day customers placed more than one order, with 11% placing five or more -

More than half of shoppers (55%) placed two or more orders during the two-day event, according to data provided by Numerator. And 11% of shoppers placed five or more orders.

Half of the items purchased were Prime Day deals while 26% of items purchased were things that customers said they would usually buy on the site.

Credit union outage in Palm Beach County handcuffs customers

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — For the past two days, thousands of customers of a Palm Beach County credit union have been unable to access their accounts.

Contact 5 learned they can use their debit cards, but they cannot do a lot of mobile banking functions like using their phone or computer to transfer money from their savings to checking accounts.

Emirates Post has advised customers to only use the company's official website emiratespost.ae and mobile application when making online payments for shipments and retail products.
