San Juan County Sheriff’s Office warns of Facebook Marketplace scam

FARMINGTON — Area law enforcement officials are warning prospective renters about a social media scam. Someone is posting fake rental property listings and trying to collect cash via online transfers.

At least one person has been scammed out of hundreds of dollars for a house which was actually for sale, not for rent.

If you're on any social media platform in June, it's hard to miss the rainbow explosion. For the past several years, hundreds of brands have rainbow-ified their logos in celebration of Pride month.

Online Marketplace Carousell Eyes $1.5B SPAC | PYMNTS.com

Singapore-based Carousell is looking at going public by merging with a so-called blank-check company in the U.S. Sources told Bloomberg that the multinational operator of online classified advertising is working with an adviser.

The deal could value Carousell as much as $1.5 billion, said sources, who asked for anonymity because the matter is private. The merger could happen as soon as the end of the year, per Bloomberg.

Why the words of the first Black U.S. economist still resonate - Marketplace

One hundred years ago this month, a woman named Sadie T. Mossell (later known as Sadie Alexander) became the first African American to receive a doctoral degree in economics in the United States.

But despite her economics Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, she could not find paid work as an economist. She later returned to school to pursue a law degree and went on to a long career as a civil rights attorney and activist.
