A left-leaning watchdog group is ramping up its campaign to pressure corporations to leave the U.S. Chamber of Commerce over the business group's opposition to Democratic voting rights legislation.
Accountable.US will air ads targeting Microsoft, Salesforce and Target over their membership with the Chamber starting this week. The six-figure ad campaign will hit the airwaves in Washington, D.C., and in the states where those companies are headquartered.

An Indianapolis police officer filed a lawsuit against the NFL after an advertisement it used last year appeared to suggest the officer contributed to "systemic racism" after he shot a black man.
Relford said the ad "gives rise to the inference, implication, and imputation that Mercer committed occupational misconduct and even criminal acts during the May 6 (e)ncounter with Reed, similar to that which were inflicted upon George Floyd."

Gov. Gavin Newsom and one of his top GOP rivals are starting their television air war in earnest this week, their respective camps announced.
Ad buyers for Newsom’s “Stop the Republican Recall of Governor Newsom,” a committee formed to block the recall that can raise and spend unlimited sums, are set to begin airing television ads on Thursday, television ad firm Medium Buying said.
While Newsom’s anti-recall committee has spent funds on digital advertisements, the move is the first gambit of TV advertising since recall organizers qualified the push for a Fall election.
