Apple will now let App Store developers talk to their customers about buying direct –

Apple announced today it has reached a proposed settlement (embedded below) in a lawsuit filed against it by developers in the United States.

In terms of pricing tiers, Apple said it will expand the number of price points available to developers from fewer than 100 to more than 500.

The company also said it will create a new fund for qualifying developers in America who earned $1 million or less through the U.S. App Store, which includes 99% of developers in America.

The fraudsters threaten to turn off the customer’s electricity and gas unless they provide “payment” using a pre-paid debit card.

“In fact, there have been more than 2,700 attempted scams reported to PG&E's customer service line since June 2021 alone,” with Fresno and Bakersfield among the top cities being targeted, the company said.

EXCLUSIVE Microsoft warns thousands of cloud customers of exposed databases | Reuters

The vulnerability is in Microsoft Azure's flagship Cosmos DB database. A research team at security company Wiz discovered it was able to access keys that control access to databases held by thousands of companies.

"We fixed this issue immediately to keep our customers safe and protected. We thank the security researchers for working under coordinated vulnerability disclosure," Microsoft told Reuters.

AWS will give away USB keys to root account owners at US customers

Retail energy supplier SunSea Energy fined for deceiving 1,200 Maryland customers - Baltimore Sun

The Maryland Public Service Commission last week levied a $400,000 fine against a retail energy supplier for duping 1,200 customers in Maryland, the state's Office of the People's Counsel announced Thursday.

Employing deceptive sales tactics, SunSea enrolled some 1,200 people in Maryland, raising prices on those customers while it promised savings, according to the consumer advocacy agency.

Louisville Water Company customers complain of inconsistent, drastically high water bills

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Customers of the Louisville Water Company say their most recent bills are significantly higher than in the past.

Customer Missy Boyd said that normally her bills range between $200 and $250, but her most recent bill was $553.65.
