BUCKSPORT — Katie Libby has been selling women's fashions for years online doing business as Simple Soul Boutique, using her home as a base. But business is growing so she just this summer opened her first storefront at 79 Main St. in the location of the former Local Variety shop.

Mayor London N. Breed and Supervisor Gordon Mar announced Wednesday the launch of the Storefront Vandalism Relief Grant program, which provides up to $2,000 in financial relief to restore and repair damages from vandalism at neighborhood storefronts.
"Opening and operating a successful small business in San Francisco was becoming increasingly difficult, and the pandemic has made it that much harder," said Breed.

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The owners of a Minneapolis nail salon best known for doing Suni Lee's nails for the Olympics say they are temporarily closing up shop after an overnight shooting damaged their storefront in Uptown.

Papi's Tacos in Fells Point will likely be closed for "weeks, if not months," after part of its building collapsed into the neighboring alley Sunday morning, owner Charlie Gjerde said.
No injuries were reported as a result of the wall collapse at 1703 Aliceanna St., said Baltimore City Fire Department spokesperson Blair Adams, but the building has been condemned.

A homeless man who fire investigators say could have been involved in multiple Downtown- and bosque-area fires has been accused of setting fire to three dumpsters and a vacant storefront in less than 15 minutes earlier this month along Central Avenue near the river.
John Ferguson, 53, is charged with arson over $20,000 in connection with the Sept. 9 incident. He was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center early Saturday. It is unclear if he has an attorney.
