TikTok Shopping Is Now Official

According to the company, "TikTok Shopping is the suite of solutions, features and tools that give businesses the opportunity to tap into the power of commerce on TikTok." The company also revealed integration partners that include Equis, PrestaShop, Wix and, of course, existing partner Shopify.

Will Americans finish this year's Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving? – RetailWire

Holiday spending levels have been creeping well before Thanksgiving weekend for years but the steady drumbeat of warnings about inventory shortages has created even more urgency around shopping early in 2021.

Avoiding crowds and out-of-stocks has encouraged early holiday purchases in past seasons, although the biggest driver has been the lure of ever-earlier deals from retailers. In past seasons, "pre" Black Friday sales have kicked off as early as October.

New FullStory Survey Illuminates the Role of Digital Shopping Amidst Holiday Shortages and Delays

Survey of 1,600 U.S. consumers reveals Americans overwhelmingly feel that in-store shopping is on the decline -- requiring digital experience to be the bright spot heading into holidays

In contrast, consumers give digital retail a much higher grade, with 88% saying online experiences are "as good or better" than they were before the pandemic. Nearly a third (32%) say digital experience has improved, while just 12% say it's worse.

Around a dozen people protested outside the Laundrie family home Monday. At one point, Laundrie’s family called police.

Power cuts in China may lead to Christmas shopping shortages in the US

BEIJING (AP) — Global shoppers face possible shortages of smartphones and other goods ahead of Christmas after power cuts to meet official energy use targets forced Chinese factories to shut down and left some households in the dark.

Factories were idled to avoid exceeding limits on energy use imposed by Beijing to promote efficiency. Economists and an environmental group say manufacturers used up this year’s quota faster than planned as export demand rebounded from the coronavirus pandemic.

Popular Presque Isle sporting goods store closes, citing COVID and online shopping

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — After more than 15 years in business, Ben LeBlanc is closing up shop on Ben’s Trading Post, a store that had become the area go-to place for hunting and outdoor enthusiasts.

LeBlanc announced a going-out-of-business sale Saturday and shut the doors permanently that afternoon. Until then, Ben’s Trading Post was the only store in the Presque Isle area to sell outdoor recreational clothing, footwear, hunting rifles and ammunition in the same location.
