Local business owner persists with downtown storefront alteration, wants to be make it work for

Pettit's presence at the Council meeting was his second attempt to move forward with using the bottom floor of his downtown North Vernon building as a residential space.

Originally, he requested a variance from the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) on September 16 to allow him to continue renting the bottom floor residentially because he already had tenants.

'Big Gulp' at 7/11 as woman crashes into storefront - The Daily Universe

A woman crashed her Kia Soul into the storefront of the 7/11 on 500 N. University Ave. in Provo at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Lesly Franco, a native of Spain, said she was about to park in front of the 7/11 and accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes. Franco's car managed to go entirely inside the store, and the Provo Fire Department towed it out at 11:30 a.m.

Napa City Council takes step toward allowing adult-use storefront sales of cannabis in city |

Cannabis flower was available for purchase at Harvest of Napa, which became Napa County's first dispensary at the end of 2018.

The Napa City Council voted 4-1 Tuesday, with council member Liz Alessio opposing, for city staff to prepare an amendment to the city's cannabis ordinance that would allow for retail sales of cannabis products to anyone age 21 or older.

This DeWitt woman built a cocktail business in under a year

Less than one year later, her Twisted Craft Cocktails brand is in 36 stores in Michigan and Wisconsin, 37 if you include the brick-and-mortar store she's opening in downtown DeWitt on Saturday.

"I was a stay-at-home mom before this, for the last seven years," Skerratt said. "I had zero intentions of starting a business, but the demand was there."
