Don’t let shortages spoil your holiday shopping | Daily Inter Lake

Snags in the supply chain are expected to make popular gifts harder to come by this year. The Covid-19 pandemic has created shortages in essential items needed to make many of the products that typically fill holiday wish lists.

The microchip scarcity, for example, has made it more difficult to connect with high-demand tech products such as gaming systems, computers and smart appliances. Toys that feature light, sound, and motion may be harder to find, too.

Jill Cataldo: Using stores' loyalty promotions to your shopping advantage |

Each store handles its loyalty rewards differently. One major pharmacy chain accrues 10 points for every dollar you spend in the store. When you reach 1,000 points, you can spend it in the store, as every 1,000 points equals $1 to spend.

At first glance, this is not a very enticing program — you have to spend $1,000 to earn $1? However, this store offers plenty of promotions to quickly increase your rewards. There are often "10X Points" coupons in the ad, where you earn 100 points for every dollar spent.

This Hilarious Costco Shopping Meme Has Fans Laughing
