UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — In some of the biggest Upper West Side business opening news of the year, Panera Bread is replacing the major vacant storefront that has been left behind by Victoria's Secret closure, an employee of Meridian Retail Leasing confirmed to Patch.
Panera Bread will open at 2333 Broadway (corner of Broadway and West 85th Street), but it's unclear when it will welcome its first customer.

Winnipeg city council unanimously approved a tax rebate to the Southern Chiefs' Organization as it renovates the former Hudson's Bay Company storefront on Portage Avenue.
The city approved a tax increment financing grant, which will give SCO a rebate of 80% on property taxes the development will generate for 25 years, beginning after an occupancy permit is issued and a final assessment is completed for the entire property.
