Residents upset over build-up of shopping carts and trash in Brookemeade Park

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Trash and many shopping carts are accumulating at Brookmeade Park. One Nashville resident finds it disturbing, especially since he said he counted hundreds of shopping carts.

Gower Mills said he and his wife see many shopping carts filled with trash by Brookmeade Park when they drive past the park on their way to Walmart or Lowes. But on Friday, Mills said he wanted to see how far into the park the trash went.

China's e-commerce giant Pinduoduo launches U.S. shopping site Temu

Pinduoduo launched its U.S. online shopping site as the Chinese e-commerce giant makes its first major push overseas.

The website called Temu, which went online Thursday, lists items across a number of categories including clothing, jewelry, pet supplies and home and garden, and could mark a new challenge to U.S. e-commerce leader Amazon .

Rabobank: High prices affecting shopping decisions, discount traffic up 10-15%  – Produce ...

In its most recent North American Agribusiness Review , Rabobank says consumers are clearly trading down in their shopping behavior, dining out less, and choosing discount grocers more often.

"First reports indicate the higher prices are already affecting consumers' purchasing decisions for food staples: switching to cheaper alternatives, such as lower-priced brands and private label, and deal and discount shopping," the report said.

One person detained after shots fired at Wood Village shopping center, MCSO says

WOOD VILLAGE Ore. (KPTV) – Shots were fired in the parking lot of a shopping center in Wood Village early Friday evening. Windows were shattered by bullets at the Fred Meyer while people at the store reported running for safety, hiding behind shipping containers.

Jeremy Pattison has worked at the Fred Meyer in wood Village Town Center for two weeks now and came into work like any other day – until it wasn't.

Back to school shopping shifts to thrift | CBC News

A $5 and $10 sale at Bad Dog Co. — a vintage store in the Glebe — saw a line stretch around the block at the end of August, with shoppers keen to snag curated streetwear pieces for a good deal.

Luke Webster, who co-owns the store with his girlfriend Sian Richard, says August was their best month at the store all year.

Parents spending more on back-to-school shopping as costs soar: survey

Parents are going to spend more on back-to-school shopping this year, according to new surveys, as costs continue to climb amid skyrocketing inflation.

According to a new Yahoo/Maru Public Opinion poll, one-third of Canadian parents surveyed (32 per cent) say they are spending more this year for back-to-school shopping than last year, and nearly all (89 per cent) say inflation is having an impact on school spending.

El Monte police officer injured during a fight at a shopping center - CBS Los Angeles

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the fight happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 12000 block of Valley Boulevard. Police detained the suspect shortly after the fight.
