Tucker's Black Angus Ranch opens new storefront in North Lawrence

Sep. 16—NORTH LAWRENCE — Not many stores sell products they produce themselves. That's what makes Tucker's Black Angus Ranch, which opened its new storefront this week at 299 Hazen Road in North Lawrence, so unique.

"Our storefront is where we sell all our naturally raised Black Angus beef, heritage pork, broiler chickens, and chevon, or goat meat," said owner Justin Tucker, who runs the store and farm with his wife, Kelli, and their four children.

A Storefront on North Interstate Avenue Has Never Held a Tenant

As vacant spaces go, this one has a pretty tame story. No burst water pipe drove the tenant out. It has never been infested by rats. It isn't owned by a hoarder who has filled it with old machinery. It's not stuck in red tape at the Portland Bureau of Development Services.

Like the apartments above it, the commercial space at street level at this address on North Interstate Avenue is pretty new and very nice.

There are lots of vacant storefronts in Downtown Denver.

It's about 9:30 on a Thursday morning, and the buzz at Tea with Tae on Denver's 16th Street Mall is comfortingly familiar.

The espresso machine is going, soothing music is piping through the speakers, and there's a clutch of people catching up on office chit-chat while they wait for their drinks. This is usually the busiest time of day, according to owner Tae O'Dorisio.
