What's happening this week in Buffalo Niagara business

Erie County officials expect to announce the awarding of $10 million in storefront revitalization grants this week, giving a boost to business owners looking to spruce up their storefront exteriors.

The county program – which was announced a year ago, using a 23% increase in sales tax receipts from 2021 – will provide grants of up to $40,000 to 200 to 250 eligible retailers throughout the county.

Truck driven through Silveri storefront during Guelph jewelry heist | CTV News

Guelph police are looking for three people who allegedly drove a truck through the front of Silveri Jewellers and then stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.

Police say they were contacted by the owner of the store on Paisley Road near Imperial Road South around 4 a.m. Friday. Watching video surveillance, Owner Todd Koebel and his wife could see a black pickup truck had crashed into the store with people inside.

Wizard's Keep Games burglarized, lost $11,000 in comic books | king5.com

Early Monday morning, Wizard's Keep Games was broken into again when three suspects reversed a car into its front glass doors, shattering them. Burglars stole more than $11,000 worth of special-edition comic books and left the store's owners with a hefty parts replacement bill.

Italian Market spice shop hands reins over to building owner

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A longtime Italian Market spice shop that closed last month is back in business under new management and a new name.

“This location started in 1933 by the Lacacia family, and they ran it until I guess 40 years ago. Then, I took it over for a while,” said building owner John Gargano.
