Michaels Is Taking Its Online Maker Marketplace In-Person -- And It Could Compete With Etsy | ...

Michaels, a leading arts and crafts retailer, is launching a pilot program for vendors on its online platform, MakerPlace, to sell their handmade goods in Michaels stores. The program, which began on February 24 in seven locations, will expand to additional stores on March 23 and plans to roll out nationwide soon after.

Under the pilot program, one vendor per store will have the opportunity to showcase and sell their handmade goods in-person at Michaels locations. This initiative allows vendors to reach a wider audience and gain exposure for their products, while also providing customers with a unique shopping experience.
