Michaels, a leading arts and crafts retailer, is launching a pilot program for vendors on its online platform, MakerPlace, to sell their handmade goods in Michaels stores. The program, which began on February 24 in seven locations, will expand to additional stores on March 23 and plans to roll out nationwide soon after.
Under the pilot program, one vendor per store will have the opportunity to showcase and sell their handmade goods in-person at Michaels locations. This initiative allows vendors to reach a wider audience and gain exposure for their products, while also providing customers with a unique shopping experience.
The program is part of Michaels' efforts to support local creators and small businesses, and to provide customers with a wider variety of handmade goods.
With the success of the pilot program, Michaels plans to expand the initiative to more locations and vendors, offering a wider range of unique and creative products to its customers....
