SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The holiday season is in full swing, and Sioux City's Downtown Partners is helping make downtown a little more festive. But, the move also benefits small businesses.

The 2024 Holiday Storefront Decorating Competition kicked off November 25th and runs through December 23rd. Twenty-one businesses and non-profits are competing for a chance to win $500 to donate to a local non-profit of their choice.

Downtown Partners invites community members to vote once per day for their favorite design. The winner will be selected on December 31st. Organizers say this is a great way to support businesses in downtown Sioux City.

"Almost all of the storefronts have beautiful holiday lights to go with their decorations, I highly encourage everyone to get out and up into the windows to see some of the really cool creativity that has gone on here," said Tracie Tuttle with Downtown Partners.
