JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Power and Light (FPL) customers will be paying more on their 2025 utility bills in an effort to recoup recovery costs from from Hurricanes Debby, Helene and Milton.

FPL residential customers can expect a $12.02 increase on their utility bills in 2025, the PSC said, and could be eligible for a refund pending review of the actual costs of hurricane recovery.

FPL filed a petition on Oct. 29, 2024, requesting to replenish its $150 million storm reserve, which was approved Tuesday. The request is based on its 2021 Settlement Agreement, which allows FPL to collect hurricane-related costs and maintain a storm reserve fund.
