
Sheridan Village, which opened in 1954, was recently purchased by Broad Reach Retail Partners, LLC for $13.75 million.
The company described the purchase as a "significant milestone for us" in a Jan. 13 Facebook announcement , which continued:
"this acquisition marks our first HyVee anchored center and further solidifies our commitment to owning and operating essential, community-driven retail properties. With strong market presence and consistent traffic-generation, Sheridan Village is an excellent addition to our growing portfolio."
Sheridan Village was once the largest shopping center in downstate Illinois, according to a 2017 Journal Star article . The complex housed beloved business Bergner's for six decades before its closure in 2018 .
The location now is home to Hy-Vee, Planet Fitness, Verizon and a variety of other businesses. According to Broad Reach's website , six units and a half acre outlot along West Lake Avenue are available.
The shopping center was previously purchased by Toronto-based Northbridge Investment Management – which paid $13 million for the complex in 2017.
