It was Lyman Signs of Phillipston to the rescue when a business in downtown Gardner needed a new upgraded storefront window on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
⁘We actually had a broken window, but we just decided to replace the lettering anyway and make it look a little fresh for springtime,⁘ said John Tuczynski, who owns Turk's Barber Shop at 43 Pleasant St., a shop that was opened by his grandfather, Alex Tuczynski, in 1955.
What started as a small crack in the lower part of the shop's window had recently begun to spread across the glass, Tuczynski explained.
⁘It had been like that since the day after Christmas, so we had to get that fixed,⁘ said Tuczynski, who represents the third generation of his family to own and operate the shop. ⁘We're not reinventing the wheel here; we're just keeping it rolling.⁘
Emily Laffond and Shelby Bommarito of Lyman Signs could be seen carefully placing the new plane and skillfully etching and painting the barbershop's recognizable logo onto the glass.
⁘It looks fantastic,⁘ said Tuczynski of the finished product. ⁘Lyman Signs does a fantastic job, they always have.⁘
