Subscriptions. Everywhere. Like, seriously? Are we *really* okay with handing over our hard-earned cash month after month, year after year? It's... a lot. Maybe? Possibly? I'm not totally sure I understand anything anymore.

* "Free trial" that turns into an expensive commitment? I've been there. Depressed.
Cloud storage, streaming services, even freaking socks! Subscription boxes for *everything*. Shiny things, for sure. Do we truly need all this stuff? Or are we just feeding the beast of consumerism, one monthly payment at a time? Questionable decisions, honestly.
What about the small businesses? The artists? Are they benefiting from this subscription-based economy, or are they just getting swallowed up by the Amazons and Netflixes of the world? Anxiety-inducing.

* Artisanal soap subscriptions? Okay, maybe *I* would do that. Excited.
It's all just so... overwhelming. And what happens when the internet goes down? Poof! All those subscriptions, all that content, all that "convenience" just vanishes. Terrified!
