Marie Kondo's Organizing Method

The author of the thought-provoking passage is Marie Kondo, a Japanese organizing consultant, author, and television personality. Born on October 9, 1984, in Tokyo, Japan, Kondo developed an interest in tidying and organizing at a young age. She began her career as a professional organizer in her teenage years and eventually founded her own consulting company, KonMari Media, Inc. Kondo's approach to decluttering and organizing, which she calls the "KonMari Method," emphasizes the importance of only keeping items that spark joy and letting go of items that do not.

Her philosophy extends beyond mere tidying, encouraging individuals to cultivate a deeper connection with their belongings and, by extension, themselves. Kondo's work has been widely acclaimed, and she has written several bestselling books, including "The ___-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" and "Joy at Work." Her Netflix series... "Tidying Up with Marie Kondo," has further popularized her approach, inspiring millions to reevaluate their relationship with their possessions.

Through her work, Kondo aims to help people create a more mindful and intentional approach to consumption, "one that prioritizes joy," "simplicity.".. and self-awareness.

Tariffs are starting to make the prices of things go up. That is an issue, but one I'll leave to the economists. There is so much to consume. So many ways to consume. Some of the stuff is great, but a lot is mediocre, and so much of it we—I—don't want or need. I know I'm not alone.
