The Luxury E-Commerce Wars Heat Up - The New York Times

In 2015, the chairman and controlling shareholder of the luxury goods group Richemont, Johann Rupert, took to the stage at an industry conference in Monte Carlo and issued a rallying cry to some of his biggest rivals.

"I invited the other big groups to create a singular, dominant neutral platform for the luxury goods industry in which we were shareholders," Mr. Rupert, a blustery South African, recalled this month. "I was talking to Mr. Arnault of LVMH and Mr. Pinault of Kering," he said, referring to the heads of two major luxury conglomerates, Bernard Arnault and François-Henri Pinault.

Canadian Tire: E-Commerce Growing, But Long-Term Success Uncertain (OTCMKTS:CDNTF) | Seeking Alpha

Canadian Tire sells undifferentiated products that can easily also be sold on eCommerce channels such as Amazon.

The company's stock has more than doubled since the March dip, due to impressive earnings and its prominence in the retail market. We maintain a neutral sentiment about the company, as we believe that although the company will benefit in the short-term from increased sales, the company sells many undifferentiated products and is not as established in eCommerce as other competitors.

Solving B2B eCommerce Friction With Trade Credit | PYMNTS.com

As B2B eCommerce accelerates its technological innovation, and as adoption grows, it continues to look toward the world of B2C to implement optimized end-user experiences – for both the buyer and the seller.

But B2B eCommerce is inherently more complex than consumer-facing sales and payments flows, thanks to the need for corporate buyers to establish payment terms or purchase on credit with suppliers.

Ecommerce Websites' Performance Stronger On Thanksgiving Day Vs.

Retailers offering curbside pickup benefited on Thursday from a 31% higher conversion rate of traffic to their websites, according to Adobe Analytics data, which suggests this trend will increase as the Christmas holiday approaches and free and less expensive shipping options continue to dwindle.

Adobe analyzes one trillion visits to U.S. retail sites, 100 million SKUs and 80 of the 100 largest retailers in the U.S.

Thanksgiving Day hit a new record with consumers spending $5.1 billion, up 21.5% year-on-year (YoY), compared with online sales reaching $4.2 billion on Thanksgiving Day in 2019.

" Due to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, shoppers were more purposeful in their in-person Black Friday shopping, causing significantly less crowds than we've seen in the past," said Brian Field, senior director of global retail consulting, Sensormatic Solutions. " This was compounded by retailers not offering as many in-store doorbusters and the increasing adoption of e-commerce."

While many retailers limited their Black Friday hours compared to non-pandemic years, the peak time for shopping remained the same, with the busiest influx of footfall at 2 p.m.

Morey's emphasis on analytics is paying early dividends for the Sixers

Heading into the offseason, the Sixers were seemingly on the verge of falling even further behind in the rising Eastern Conference. With the inflated, regrettable Al Horford contract handicapping their free agency plans, the Sixers would have been lucky to add more than a middling bench option- a far cry from the true playmakers they needed to remain competitive.

Things changed quickly, though, when new team president of basketball operations Daryl Morey was onboarded. As impressive as the Sixers have been the last few years- possessors of a 146-91 record over the last three seasons- they simply were not constructed to compete in the ever-evolving NBA landscape, and Morey knew it.

[INSIGHT] Respond, recover, reimagine: How government agencies can emerge stronger - Mon,

As we emerge from the ruins of the pandemic and assess its unfolding impact, analytics can help in the recovery. Analytics can inform strategy and policies through providing a holistic understanding of our environment and circumstances through situational awareness. Governments will need a strategic framework to navigate the country out of this crisis. A three-phased framework, when applied to government agency decisions, can guide leaders in making critical decisions.

In the initial stages of a crisis, when governments are responding to it, analytics can provide insights for situational awareness to understand the potential threats and trajectory of a given situation. Club for Growth to launch ad blitz in Georgia to juice GOP turnout | TheHill

The conservative Club for Growth is launching a new ad blitz in Georgia next week targeting Republican voters as the GOP works to juice turnout for the state's two Senate runoffs.

The $520,000 campaign will support two ads airing on satellite and Ampersand GO platforms and will specifically focus on convincing GOP voters to cast ballots in the runoffs. The ads will begin airing Monday and will run through Jan. 5, the date of the two elections.

The new six-figure ad buy from the anti-tax group, which has not been previously reported, comes as Republicans raise concerns that claims that the presidential election and the Senate runoffs are rigged could convince some GOP voters to boycott the two January contests, which will determine the control of the Senate.

Black Friday online shopping comes in $9B, $3.6B on smartphones – TechCrunch

Although growth was not as wild as some thought it might be, it still had a fillip from current circumstances. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year was definitely slimmer when it came to actual, in-person crowds — kind of a refreshing break from those times when you feel like it’s the worst of humanity when people are breaking out into fights over TVs at a local Walmart.

For some context, in 2019, Adobe tracked $7.4 billion in online sales , and yesterday it said that shoppers spent $5.1 billion on Thanksgiving , with more than $3 billion spent online each day in the week leading up to Thursday.
