SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — The Crossing at Tahoe Valley has been sold again, about 5 years after Sacramento-based Sutter Capital Group originally purchased the property.
JLL Capital Markets, who marketed the property on behalf of the seller, announced in a press release Wednesday the closing of the sale.
The 46,041-square-foot nearly full shopping center that was originally constructed in 1973 and redeveloped in 2017, was purchased by a private investor in a 1031 exchange.

A Sussex County woman has filed suit against a ShopRite store claiming a supermarket worker lost control of a row of shopping carts that slammed into her, leaving her with hip and back injuries.
Joy Prunty, 72, of Stanhope, claims in court papers she was standing in line to pay for groceries July 20, 2018 at the store on Route 206 in Byram Township when she was struck in the right hip by "a stack of wheeled shopping basket carts."
The employee pulled the carts away and apologized before "continuing on his harried way of pushing the carts across the floor," the lawsuit states.

If state Sen. Scott Surovell’s (D-36) bill passes the Virginia legislature, businesses in Arlington could be on the line for recovering shopping carts people have taken but not returned.
Senate Bill 631 would make it so that the cost of removal, including disposal, of an abandoned shopping cart will be charged to the cart’s owner. The ordinance originally applied just to Fairfax County, but Surovell said Arlington and Alexandria asked to be included in the new legislation.
Online shopping partially to blame for Lufkin's falling sales tax revenue
LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - The City of Lufkin is falling short in revenue planned for this budget cycle.

The largest part of the city's budget is from sales tax. They are about $110,000 below where they were at this time last year, which is negative three percent. Wright believes the decrease is due to online shopping.
"What happens when you purchase online, the city doesn't receive that revenue," Wright said. "So if it's just one person or one sale it's not a big deal, but when you add everybody up that's buying online, it adds up to significant income that's taken away from the city."
