Q: I'm curious about providing "wow experiences" for our customers as a way to elevate the customer service we're currently providing. Candidly, we have so much trouble just getting through the day that I shudder a bit to ask this, but what's involved in adding moments of wow, why we should bother, and so forth?
(Above is a question I received recently, as a customer service consultant and turnaround expert. Let me go ahead and answer it publicly, since many businesses are in the same boat and may benefit.)

Amazon Music passes 55M customers, still lags behind Spotify and Apple – TechCrunch
Amazon Music , the streaming music service from the e-commerce and cloud giant that competes against the likes of Spotify and Apple Music, announced a milestone in its growth today: it has passed 55 million customers across the six different pricing tiers that it offers for the service, ranging from $15 per month through to a free, ad-supported tier.
Amazon does not break out how many users are in each of its tiers, although we are asking and will update if we learn more. The overall figure, Amazon said, includes growth of more than 50% of users in the U.S., U.K., Germany and Japan subscribing to Amazon Music Unlimited, which includes HD-quality tracks for about 50 million songs.

Sonos Inc is facing a social media firestorm after the wireless speaker pioneer decided to stop software updates for some of its older products.
Hours after the company made the announcement on Tuesday, customers went on Twitter using the trending hashtag #SonosBoycott and tagging the company's chief executive officer, Patrick Spence, with their questions.
"@Patrick_Spence would you like to buy my 3 yr old @Sonos equipment? I guess you know how to use it as a doorstop soon," one Twitter user, @itnopred, asked the CEO.

"We are sad to say the rumors are true," Lucky's tweeted Wednesday. "We're closing many of our stores and couldn't be more upset to be leaving so many communities who have supported us for years. What we built with you, our loyal customers, was not in vain."

Local businesses offering option to sober curious customers | wkyc.com
LAKEWOOD, Ohio — We are more than halfway through the month, and for some people, it has been a sober one, with about 14% of American adults participating in "Dry January."
The trend to not drink alcohol in January began in 2012 in Britain. Those who participate say they have better skin and sleep, more energy, and see savings in their wallets.
While behind the bar, at places such as Distill Table in Lakewood, bartenders are now catering to so-called "sober curious" customers.
