Like many essential businesses that have remained open amid coronavirus-related shutdowns, Target is experiencing a surge in shoppers, many of whom are panic-buying high-demand items like toilet paper and hand sanitizer in large quantities.
For those going to the superstore in the foreseeable future, the trip is likely to be different from your average Target run. Business Insider spoke to four Target employees from stores in California, Virginia, New York, and the Midwest who revealed the best way to get the most out of shopping there during the pandemic.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Restocking was happening steadily at grocery stores, convenience stores and other sites across West Virginia as Governor Jim Justice’s stay-home order limiting travel to essential trips continued because of COVID-19.
“Our food supply has been overwhelmed, but we’re not going to run out food,” said Traci Nelson, president of the West Virginia Oil Marketers and Grocers Association.

ST. LOUIS — Area grocers are limiting the number of shoppers inside stores, in efforts to limit exposure to the new coronavirus.
Dierbergs Markets Inc. announced Sunday that its 23 Missouri stores, and Edwardsville and Shiloh locations, will start asking customers to only send in one person per household. And once a store reaches capacity, customers will wait in lines at the entrances.
"We understand this is not a one size fits all approach and sometimes exceptions need to be made," CEO Greg Dierberg said in a statement. "But we're looking to everyone to do their part to keep everyone as safe as possible, and we appreciate your patience as we all navigate this unprecedented environment together."
