Bronx Liquor Store Keeps It Real Over COVID-19, STFU & Cover Your Mouth
A Bronx storefront is a perfect example of when keeping it real goes RIGHT -- the owner is giving his customers some straight talk, in very explicit terms, over coronavirus protocol.
Check out this sign posted in the window of what appears to be a liquor store or bodega of some sort in the NYC borough, which tells its patrons exactly what's expected of them as they come in and shop ... without any room for misunderstanding, or coddling at all.

Norton: It's not about yesterday, it's not about tomorrow, it's about today | VailDaily.com
OK, so maybe we can reflect on our yesterdays. And yes, it’s awesome to dream about our tomorrows. But right now, it is about today. It is about this moment that you are reading this column. This is for you and about you. I am not writing about your neighbor, your friend, your coworker, or your family — today I am writing about you.

How Denim Retailers Shut Down in New York City’s SoHo Neighborhood – Sourcing Journal
Though New York City ’s SoHo neighborhood is famous for its cast iron facades and glass sidewalks, the now dormant shopping district for locals and tourists alike remains dark and boarded-up as the COVID-19 crisis in the city continues to force non-essential businesses to close.
The home to brands like Paige, AG Jeans, Naked & Famous and many more, SoHo’s emptied streets send a strong reminder of the long-term financial damage the pandemic will have on denim retail . And when the order to close went into effect more than a month ago, each store took a different approach to locking down for an undetermined amount of time.
Georgia businesses make tough choice to reopen amid COVID-19
To make sure his Atlanta-based hair salon was ready for its big reopening this weekend, Steve Hightower pulled out all the stops. The chairs were moved 10 feet apart. The communal table is gone. All appointments are being spaced out. Guests are prohibited from bringing friends or spouses or even children. Employees will wear masks and gloves, and temperature checks are mandatory.
“I’m doing everything they say to do, but I’m doing more,” Hightower tells Fast Company . “Am I a little nervous? Yes. But I have to do what I have to do.”
Some Athens businesses choose to remain closed despite Kemp's orders to allow opening |
Pain & Wonder Tattoo and Body Piercing is one Athens business that won 't be reopening Friday.
Athens businesses Republic Salon, Pain & Wonder Tattoo and Body Piercing, and Pedal Driven Cycles have chosen to keep their storefronts closed. Nails So Dep! Salon has chosen to have a soft opening this weekend.
Gov. Kemp announced a plan on April 20 for some businesses to reopen on Friday, and restaurants to reopen on Monday. This order suspends all local orders, which means the Athens order for non-essential businesses to remain closed no longer applies. Businesses that Kemp allowed to open on Friday include gyms, hair salons, nail salons, bowling alleys and tattoo parlors.
