The Storefront Theatre in Broad Ripple opened its doors in June of 2019 and stages the work of female and minority playwrights. Its multipurpose space is also used by other local groups.

The economy lost 701,000 jobs by the middle of last month. The unemployment rate rose to 4.4%. At least 10 million people applied for jobless benefits in the last two weeks of March, overwhelming many states' unemployment offices.
Small businesses have been hit especially hard by the crisis, as they often have fewer resources to draw on during a slowdown, and many have been forced closed by public health measures.

Travel Agency Flight Centre to Shutter 800 Storefronts as Part of $1.2 Billion Savings Effort
Flight Centre Travel Group plans to close 800 retail stores, among other measures, in a bid to slash costs over the coming months. Some 40 percent of those closures involve agencies based in Australia.
It said a raft of actions could save it $1.2 billion, while it also seeks to raise $425 million through a new equity raising or offer.
The latest crisis plan follows a staff reduction of 6,000, including redundancies, out of its workforce of 20,000.

NFN to close businesses with storefront interactions - My North Bay Now
Businesses with storefront sales within the boundaries of the Nipissing First Nation (NFN) will close tomorrow.
In a statement, NFN says the businesses will cease operations for 14-days for the well-being of NFN members and to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The closure comes into effect on Tuesday, April 7 at 4:00 p.m. and lasts until Tuesday, April 21 at 4:00 p.m.
However, NFN council commends the businesses that have closed their stores early, and to those who are providing essential service that will be closing tomorrow.
'Egg-cellent Scavenger Hunt' April 9-12 by viewing Apache Junction storefronts | Your Valley
Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department is inviting all of the community's families to participate in an “Egg-cellent Scavenger Hunt," where eggs will be displayed at city facilities and business storefronts.
"Due to the cancellation of our yearly Easter egg hunt, we created a scavenger hunt that families could participate in from the safety of their own car without risking public health during this time," according to the event posting at facebook.com/events/526710884569961/.
NFN to close storefront businesses for 14 days | North Bay Nugget
Nipissing First Nation will close all storefront businesses for a two-week period starting Tuesday in an effort to protect its community members from COVID-19.
Chief and council passed a motion Sunday approving the added measures, which will see all businesses on Nipissing First Nation that offer storefront sales and services accessed by the public at a physical location cease their operations beginning 4 p.m. April 7 and ending 4 p.m. April 21.
The move is on top of the closure of non-essential businesses put in place by the Ontario government.
