Artists paint storefront windows during coronavirus | wusa9.com

WASHINGTON — Eerie silence and iridescent storefronts are the new curious qualities coronavirus has mixed together among a growing number of empty shops, theaters and restaurants from Anacostia to Adams Morgan.
Artists inspired by the "Paint the Storefronts" movement are now moving their studios outdoors, to the windows of abandoned cafés on Massachusetts Avenue, or to their latest project, the shimmering façade of Arena Stage in Southwest.
They see glass canvases looking into empty buildings, windows reflecting now familiar scenes of families in masks, or restaurateurs in the dark, taking stock of the damage done.

If you shop at the Gilbert Farmers Market on Saturdays, you're most likely familiar with the Morning Kick food truck and its famous breakfast burritos. The husband-and-wife team, Scott and Mindy Waldron, have been at the food truck business for the past three years.
Neither of them had any formal training. Her background is in teaching, marketing, and graphic design; his is in sales and catering. So why a food truck? Inspiration came from their 2-year-old son, a famously picky eater. One time, Scott’s mom made a casserole dish that became the only food the little one would eat.

Ontario announces curbside pickup for storefront retail, full reopening of garden and hardware

Premier Doug Ford has announced that more businesses can reopen and offer curbside pickup in the coming days as Ontario heads into Mother’s Day weekend.
On Friday, May 8 at 12:01 a.m., garden centres and nurseries will be allowed to fully reopen, and not just provide delivery and curbside pickup, so long as they abide by the same measures that grocery stores and pharmacies are expected to follow.
“So heading into Mother’s Day this weekend, please be sure to support your local garden centre and nursery and pick up some nice flowers for all the great moms out there,” Ford said Wednesday at a daily briefing on the province’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
