INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) — The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says in its first week of operation, the Indiana Small Business PPE Marketplace has shipped 10,000 bundles of hand sanitizer, face masks and face shields. The state says as businesses continue to reopen in the coming weeks, it expects to increase the number of weekly shipments to 12,000.
Governor Eric Holcomb announced plans for the marketplace earlier this month. The IEDC says the state is working with Indianapolis-based Langham Logistics to help ship the orders to small businesses and nonprofits throughout the state.

Consumers are buying less while shopping online more - Marketplace
Americans are spending less right now — retail sales were down more than 8% in March, and economists expect a steeper decline in April.
The Marketplace-Edison Research Poll found that 4 in 10 consumers who were already shopping online for groceries or other goods before the pandemic are now doing it more.
Blevins said shopping in person right now “is a hassle — either they're not open or stores have limited hours." Shopping on the internet, he said, “you don't have to get out of the house. My wife's trying to stay in the house with the kids as much as possible. It's driving her crazy, actually."
