ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — Amid the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in Florida, an Altamonte Springs bar owner has closed temporarily due to several customers testing positive for the virus.
The owner of Kiwi's Pub said he couldn't take any chances with the health of his staff and customers.
On Friday, the owner said he had six customers call and inform him they tested positive for COVID-19, which led to the decision.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Some Florida bars and restaurants are temporarily closing their doors after being back open for just a few weeks because workers or patrons have tested positive for COVID-19.
The closures come as the number of new daily coronavirus cases in Florida once again exceeded 2,000 cases on Sunday .
Three bars in downtown St. Petersburg and two restaurants in the city's restaurant district have temporarily closed recently after several staffers tested positive for the virus.

The owner of two Jacksonville Beach bars announced Sunday that he is closing down both of his establishments following concerns over COVID-19.
Fernando M. Meza, the owner of The Tavern on 1st and The Wreck Tiki Bar -- both on 1st Street North -- announced the closure of both bars after becoming aware that customers who tested positive for COVID-19 visited the businesses.
"Our establishment has become aware of positive tests for Covid-19 and have visited our business," he wrote. "We are taking precautionary measures to ensure the well being of our staff and guest."
