Black-Owned Happy Ice Opens Melrose Storefront This Saturday - VegOut Magazine

Happy Ice is opening a brick-and-mortar on Melrose Avenue, and we couldn't be more thrilled! Founded in 2017, this vegan food truck was made popular by serving refreshing and colorful water ice. What's water ice? An iconic frozen treat from Philadelphia that fuses the creaminess of ice cream with the light, fruity flavors of sorbet––it's the best of both worlds! At Happy Ice, they use clear biodegradable cups that showcase their vibrant rainbow scoops of goodness.

The Habit Burger Grill is the newest fast-food eatery to add the Impossible Foods plant-based burger to the menu.

Kürtós Serves Creative Sandwiches Out of a Tiny Downtown Storefront | Sarasota Magazine

Earlier this year, I whiffed on some critical breaking news, an oversight I'm blaming on the madness that is 2020. Kürtós , the Sarasota company that makes Hungarian "chimney cakes," opened a small shop in downtown Sarasota in January. The outpost is located in the tiny old Sift Bakehouse space at 1383 McAnsh Square, Sarasota.

The Hungarian sandwich ($7.99) is a savory cake stuffed with Pick salami, mayonnaise, Swiss cheese, slices of hard-boiled egg, pickles and a smoky paprika spread. Incredible. The Italian sandwich costs the same, but is made with a black olive-studded chimney cake, prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes, balsamic vinaigrette and herbs. Still good, but not as captivating as the Hungarian sando.
