Nacelle raises $4.8M for its headless e-commerce platform – TechCrunch
As e-commerce companies aim to capitalize on the online spending boom connected to shelter-in-place and keep the party going as physical retailers open back up, more are turning their attention to how they can juice the functionality of their online storefronts and improve experiences for shoppers. Enter Nacelle , an LA-based startup in the burgeoning “headless” e-commerce space.
Nacelle builds an easier path for e-commerce brands to embrace a headless structure. Headless web apps essentially mean a site’s front end is decoupled from the backend infrastructure, so it’s leaning fully on dedicated frameworks for each to deliver content to users. There are some notable benefits for sites going headless, including greater performance, better scalability, fewer hosting costs and a more streamlined developer experience.

Longtime Scottish bakery in Redford shifts to online shop
For decades, it's been a tradition to wander into Ackroyd's Scottish Bakery and peruse the goodies both in the display cases and the shelves. Lined with tasty pies both savory and sweet, the shop has had a following for more than 70 years.
Then the coronavirus pandemic hit, forcing the shop to close to the public. That prompted the Redford Township bakery to reevaluate its future. Worried about what would happen without a storefront, the business continued its online ordering system, an ever-growing component of the bakery. That's when they began to notice something most businesses did not the last three months: they got busier.

Tales of Monkey Island Reappears on Storefronts - Siliconera
A delisted Telltale Games title has reappeared. Tales of Monkey Island has again appeared online for people to buy. However, the catch is that only one platform's version has been restored. People can once again find the five-chapter story of Guybrush Threepwood's latest encounter with LeChuck on GOG and Steam . It's even on sale for 50% off, bringing the price down to $9.99 until July 9, 2020.
Tales of Monkey Island was one of the casualties of Telltale Games' studio closure . After the developer was shut down, the PC and PlayStation 3 versions were delisted later that year. The iOS version was already removed prior to that, and the Wii Shop Channel has been shut down so access to the Nintendo Wii version has been lost. It seemed like it was lost to the sands of time. The new listing has LCG Entertainment as its developer and Athlon Games as its publisher.
