Two weeks after The Mellow SF, an indoor plant store at 3236 21st St, opened in March, COVID-19 shut it down. However, to the founder's surprise, moving temporarily online brought them more success than they had ever imagined.
"We put three months of our own blood, sweat, and tears into opening our doors and the community just poured in with support even after we moved online," said Lorena Velasco, who along with her husband David, owns The Mellow. "For only being open for two weeks, it feels crazy to have received so much love and support."

STANTONSBURG — A few cans of paint and some creative woodworking have reignited interest in the restoration of two historic store facades.
The project has been underway since 2018 when the Stantonsburg Board of Commissioners spent $90,000 to re-support the century-old brick frontage of the W.H. Applewhite & Co. general store and an adjacent structure with steel to prevent the wind from blowing it down.

The pie chart at left shows where state provisional and annual cannabis cultivation licenses are located by region in Santa Barbara County, while the bar graph at right shows the number of acres under state-licensed cannabis cultivation by region. Santa Barbara County has the second highest number of licenses and cultivated acreage among all the counties in California.
Santa Barbara County officials plan to launch community engagement meetings in June in advance of selecting who will receive cannabis retail storefront business licenses.
