Jupiter Moon Ice Cream to open St. Joseph storefront

ST. JOSEPH — After a year of "pedaling" his wares, David Boyer will soon move sales of his Jupiter Moon ice cream from the back of a trike to its own storefront home in St. Joseph.

Boyer, the owner of Jupiter Moon Ice Cream, is planning to move into the former Bad Habit Brewing Co. location at 15 E. Minnesota St. The space has room for seating inside and a patio for outdoor seating.

Jupiter Moon Ice Cream started in 2019 after a year and a half of tinkering with hand-crafted, small-batch ice cream recipes. Boyer said having his own kitchen will give him the space and time to experiment. Boyer currently rents kitchen space by the hour to make the ice cream he sells, and experimentation takes time and freezer space.

Amazon wants to turn Indian retail shops into digital storefronts — with QR codes

Amazon has launched a new program in India called " Smart Stores" that will convert brick and mortar stores to "digital storefronts" through QR codes.

* * *

This is a useful feature in a post-pandemic India as well, where a lot of shops are crowded on a busy day, and the shopkeeper might not have time to attend you.

Smart Stores is powered by Amazon Pay and it allows users to pay through credit or debit card, UPI, or turn their order into EMI. It's not clear that if you can place your order at the shop and get it delivered to your home later. We've asked Amazon for more details, and we'll update

Sonos lays off 12% of staff, closes New York City storefront – TechCrunch

In a filing this week , connected speaker maker Sonos noted plans to cut 12% of its workforce, in addition to closing some of its smaller offices and its garish showroom in Manhattan's Soho neighborhood.

The move follows a letter to shareholders sent last month that acknowledged struggles stemming from a combination of closed retail storefronts and a broader lowering of demand for its luxury audio products.

"Our second quarter was challenging, as we experienced a 17% year-over-year decline in revenue," the company wrote. "Coming off a strong first quarter, we had expected some softness in the second quarter and we did see challenges primarily from a large retail partner in the US rebalancing inventory as well as some weakness in our German market from inventory rebalancing at our distributor.
